What is the process of obtaining a National ID card for citizens with foreign spouses applying for ROC nationality by naturalization process?

Marriage Certificate → Apply for Residency Visa → Apply for Alien Resident Certificate → Apply for Certificate Of Quasi-naturalization Of Nationality Of The Republic Of China (counted from the application date forwards, must be lawfully residing for more than 3 years and to stay 183 days a year above the facts) → Apply for Resident Certificate for the Taiwan Area → Apply for Residency for Citizenship Certificate (Must reside for a period of time: from the date of naturalization, continuous residence for at least a year without leaving the country; or continuous residence in at least two years, residing more than 270 days a year; or residing for at least five years, continuous residence for at least 183 days) → Apply for Household Registration and collect your National ID card. |

Do foreign and mainland spouses need to have an National ID card to work?

Foreign spouses who hold valid residence permits can work without a National ID card. For mainland spouses: If the residence is in accordance with dependent and long-term residence, one must work during the period of residence in Taiwan, without holding proof of identity. (According to the Executive Yuan Lu Zi Court Order no. 0980091474 issued at Aug. 11, 2009, implemented at Aug. 14, 2009.)) |
